WOT results in govenor/kill switch feel
WOT results in govenor/kill switch feel
95 LT1 idles and runs great during normal driving but under WOT the engine almost shuts down like a govenor until you lift. Happens most often at higher rpms. Motor is stock except intake and headers. Any ideas?
Re: WOT results in govenor/kill switch feel
My car did the same thing. I would mash the throttle and it would go then just shut down like i hit the govenor. I replaced the MAF and it was fine. The reason the MAF went bad was becasue I had a nitrous backfire and it fried the sensor.
I might just get a friends MAF and hook it up to see if that is the problem. BTW, the MAF is pretty common with different GM cars so you could find one at a junkyard off a truck cheap.

Anyone know the cross reference for these MAF's (I have a 95 LT1) - if not the dealer should be able to help.

Wasn't the MAF - back to the drawing board I guess.
In the meantime a new fuel pump when in and injectors were replaced 3 months ago. The only sensor that hasn't been replaced in the last year is the MAP sensor - can you unplug this one too as a test?

Sorry I was being too broad with my statement. But if you ask a salvage yard they will tell you which ones are the same.
