i see your just one of those ****** who stir up crap, so mine and your conversation is over.

when you know what your doing you dont have to tear the tranny down every year,

so while you keep rebuilding your tranny over and over, every time you do it you will think of me.

by the way it 4l60E electronic shift a 4l60 is the same as 700r4

.Nope I dont keep on rebuilding my tranny. Useds a 4L60e for 1 season when I was running stock. Used a 700R4 for 1 season after I installed cam and stage 2 heads. . Sold 700 after one season and over 100 passes at 12.22 ET . Tore it apart before I sold it and was just like new. Just a little wear on the clutch pack. Have now lent a hand in building a TH400 for my new set up. So yes I do know what I am talking about. I see you are running a M6. How many times has your hands been inside an auto?

Knowledge of the 4L60E is far more advanced then it was three years ago. If your FRIEND had figured it out three years ago , he would have been a rich man by now.

Sorry I will not stoop to your level by calling you a *****. Name calling is a childrens game. When your FRIEND gets on here and tells us the truth I will beleive your story, NOT YOUR SECOND HAND INFORMATION.

first off i would like to say im sorry for calling you that, your right it was childish. but i dont speak unless i know it ot be fact or ive seen it with my own eyes so for someone to tell me im lieing (in not so many words) pisses me off. so im sorry.

but you say ive never hand my hands in an a4 well i have but only once. and i was only helping.

so now... when i went over to his shop he had 48 4l60e's sitting in the floor. and he also does about 3 tci's a month (repairing them that is) becuase they are crap. and i also talked to a guy that owns the tranny shop where he got started and i asked him if he knew this person and he said, yes he worked for me, well then i asked him, does he know what he's doing and did he like working with him. his exact words were hes a great guy but i didnt like him working for me becuase none of his work came back ever. and that was told to me by the owner of the oliver bros transmission in waco texas. (feel free to call.)

now when my buddies tranny messed up after a 1/1/2 years. well he called him to see how much to fix (not expecting him to honor his work) and he said he would fix it and upgrade a bunch of stuff in the tranny for free. but all he asked him to pay for, was the new clutches and thats becuase he said that is something that wears. and he told him that he paid for this tranny a year and half ago. (pretty good customer service if you ask me, and also pretty confident in his tranny. and all this was said in front of me, or to me. so i didnt get it second hand i got it first hand, your getting it second hand.

pm viperkiller (brad) and ask him who built his tranny, and if he did a good job. and ask him to verify anything ive said.

and yes you right i do have a m6 and its because i didnt want any tranny trouble, but if i was going to buy another for the track, i would buy a A4 and take it striaght to him.and only do it one time.
but pm brad and ask him. if you do ask him wait a while for the reply because he's at church right now.

also call L&B performance in waco tx and ask them to rebuild your tranny and who will acctualy do the work. and he will tell you. the same guy. thats how we found out about him. do have there number handy, but ask for gary lambet (owner). get the number from information

and agian im sorry for calling that.

and by the way he is a rich man.

im in dallas.....

i had hobart performance transmissions rebuild my 4l60e and supposedly the guy is one of the best guys around. his shop is located in red oak ( a decent drive) but the guy guaranteed my tranny w/ 600 rw hp for a year. i don't race the car but he did go ahead and put a tranny cooler, a shift kit and stall in mine. he did charge me $1950, but manually shifting the car will break the tires loose @ 50. have had no issues and it took him 2 days to take mine out and re-install it. believe me this guy is badass.

My 4l60e broke teeth off of the planetary gears... ugh..

going with a six speed now..

you can make it quite a bit stronger.. check out 4l60-e.com they have some pretty neat bulletproof parts..

sure its worth it. i had 1 built for much less then any price that has been talked about here.

12SCNDZ built mine 2 years ago. it has seen countless roadtrips, many, many low 11 sec runs, and the fluid hasnt been touched, looks BRAND new. stuff the car in drive and keep it straight.

i am definately impressed as to what these things can hold, but i'm damn near at the end of how fast i want to go with the 4l60e,not a durability issue, but gear wise, the wide drop wont be beneficial to my new combo.

I too paid alot less for my performance rebuild.
I had a shop in Independence called A&A do the rebuild and when I picked it up I asked if there was anything I should not do like manual downshifting or anything like that, he said nope thats a good tranny.
And so far he was very correct.

Guess I must know the right people.....paid $300.00 plus provided the rebuild kit which was $180.00 to a local tranny guy.

3 years, many 11 second passes, many 1.6-1.7 60's, unknown number of dead stop launches..still like new. Hell, I am confident that this tranny will hold up to my 10 second onslaughts.

And when I get the itch to fix it again...same guy.

I run a tranny cooler and Silverado tranny pan also.

Thanks, Dirk.

BTW, my 700 (same internally as a 4L60E) has had 3 years of 12 second abuse.
