No one seems to blink an eye spending $2,500 on heads, rockers, cam, and gaskets to pick up 75 hp. That's $33 per horsepower. You then need to spend $350 on tuning to take advantage of the power.

I spent $25 on my airfoil. Even if you only pick up 1 hp, that's $25 per hp. Optimistically, if you gain 2-4 hp like some dynos show, you're now only spending $6 - $12 per hp...a bargain if you ask me. Besides, it takes all of 5 minutes to do, and will not cause you to lose power (or torque for that matter).

Why people dismiss the little things is beyond me. I'm amazed that people will spend nearly $5,000 on the STS turbo to gain 100-125 hp, ($50 per hp) but shoot-down any thought of using nitrous (approx. $850) to gain 125 hp ($7 per hp) because "nitrous needs to be refilled and is expensive in the long-run". Do you know how many times I can refill a bottle for the $4,150 difference???

Short answer:

C'mon...you're talking about $25 here. While we're at it, this decision is right up there with "Is a K&N filter worth it?"
I'll tell you "why"... because 1 hp, if it's even gained, shows ZERO results at the track or on the street. So what's the point?

As a side note, be careful when looking at the aftermarket elbows...The CRT one is a flow restriction when paired with a 58mm TB...I had asked about a CRT elbow on here a while ago and someone who had one held it up to a 58mm TB and you could see that it was smaller than the opening...Just fyi...I have the 1LE elbow and I think its plenty sufficient...

I think the airfoil is only good in terms of the phrase - "all the little things add up." so if you spend a little bit of money on like 5 little things that add 2 hp, well now you have 10hp.

little things that add up:

synthetic fluid in the tranny, rear end, motor, LS1 driveshaft, air foil, quasi home made ram air, ported throttle body, coil mod, throttle body bypass, 160* t-statt, fan switch....etc. all that stuff probably adds one hp, but add it all up, and the amount of money you spent, and compare it to say a catback, and it equals out kinda, haha

it all helps in the end!

My point exactly! Well said Rasputin.

Don't discount the little things. While not exactly additive, well thought our parts do compliment each other in the long run. I always use the "bang for the buck" formula myself.
