Alright, I just had my optispark done by this shop over by me. I towed it home cause it wouldnt stay running, the exhaust wasent connected

I had an electrical problem and i shorted out the ICM and it had some bad grounds. I brought it to an electrical shop and they fixed all that up and got it running for me. Still no exhaust but it ran. It fouled out all the plugs. I had a rough idle, and stumble under acceleration

I did the plugs myself, LT1 RECORD TIME 48 mins to do all 8 plugs. MAC headers helped me.

Now it started it a lil quicker than last time, still no exhaust. It idles erradically, ****ty idle, slight stumble under acceleraton and FIRE coming out of the exhaust, sparks and shots of flames, backfiring like CRAZY!!

SO WHAT ELSE COULD THIS BE, BESIDES THE OPTI

I think its the opti, my damn luck its the opti again!!

ANY HELP WOULD BE GREAT!

 

check all plugs and connectors...I caught mine before I wasted money on an opti.

New optispark
New cap and rotor
New MSD Blaster coil
New MSD 6BTM box
New ICM
New MSD 8.5 mm wires
New NGK plugs

all new parts
my car still runs like crap

so its basically never run right after the opti install? if so then they either messed up the firing order on the plug wires or they got the opti one hole off, but my car wouldn't even start when i had the opti one hole off.

 

Sounds like the Opti is not indexed correctly to the splined shaft. And running it with no exhaust is driving the O2 sensors nuts, probably causing it to run super rich.

 

Oh i didn't know he had a 94 yeah then his opti can probably be off and still run.

 

alrighty then i think it really is the opti now

This mornign started her up, idled for like a minute. Crappiest idle ive ever seen, good oil pressure.. but then she stalled

tried to start it back up....sputtering...poping.....trying to start...nothing

OPTI????????

 

Are you positive your plug wires are all on the right plugs?

 

checked your intake elbow for tears or to see that it is connected properly?

 

Why don't you answer our questions. Has it run right at all after the opti install? The opti or plug wires were probably installed wrong.

 

I actually had a shop do the opti and wires. He might of put in a bad unit. It hasent run 100% since i got it back.

I called the shop and he told me to bring it down and he'll re-do it. so hopefully he will do it RIGHT this time..
