Wiring SPAL Cooling Fans Help - Shoebox, Injuneer

Shoebox, Injuneer, anyone who may have more knowledge of this than me -

I'm wiring my new dual SPAL 11" cooling fans up right now. I ordered the Be Cool fan harnesses, which came with a a fan thermostat that screws into the head. Instead of letting the thermostat control my fans, I opted to use let the ECU control them still. I wanted the fans to come on simultaneously, and always at high speed, so I have bypassed the cooling fan relays all together (removed them from the relay box as well), and used Tap Splices coming off of the ECU's red connectors at pins 10 & 11, which the ECU grounds to switch the stock cooling fan relays. From my Tap Splices, I put I diode on each wire, and then spliced the wires from pins 10 and 11 together, so that I have one ground to switch the relays to my Spal fans on....confused yet? What I am getting now is DTC 1641 and 1642, which I've read is a fan relay code. I'm assuming the the ECU looks for some sort of resistance on these wires to let it know that the fan relays are present. The fans operate exactly as I had intended them to, with the exception of the DTCs. Can anyone recommend something to trick the ECU, such as a resistor inline, etc? Any help would be greatly appreciated. THanks in advance,

- Brandon

Use the 47 ohm resistors in this fan switch diagram to keep the pcm from setting the DTCs. Not sure it will work properly with the two relay leads spliced together. Maybe you should use a DPDT switch. Or you could also just use the low speed fan relay wire and bridge it to both of your relays and that would do the same thing.
