Wiring into the computer

Are they any other mods that are worth doing to the computer besides the manual fan switch and the performance shift option that is available only on trans ams?
I was very impressed with both of these mods and was wondering if there was anything you could do, I know you can get it reprogrammed but with the mods I have now (no headers or cam) I have been told it wont help me much.

Your first post pretty much sums it up. There is not much else you can or would want to do externally to the pcm. Reprogramming is the way to go to make the most of engine modifications or to attempt to increase power.

Custom free flowing exhaust (minus headers) possibly comin soon
TPI airfoil
160 hypertech thermostat

new fuel pump

I have a similar set-up, and went ahead and had the programming done. I knew I was going to have PCMForLess do my programming when I decided to get headers and a cat-back anyway--so I figured, why wait? (I went with the email option with unlimited updates.) I'm just waiting on the right GP to come up on the headers/cat-back before I make my purchase. I also know that I won't be doing any major upgrades until winter time so why wait on something that can only help? If money is the issue and you're looking to get the "best bang for your buck" I'd say hold off because you probably won't see much of a difference. (I'd let you know how mine worked out but I'm too lazy to go out to the garage and load my new program up.)

thanks for the reply. You have similar mods to me? What kind of headers should I look at and what other mods should I put money on?

I have done a ton of research on headers (as far as what would best suit me) and if I were going with short tubes I'd go with MAC headers. I personally will be going with Jet-Hot long tubes w/emissions even though there is no emission testing in Arkansas--I'd rather be safe than sorry. I can plug up the emission equipment and if I ever need to connect it, that option will be open. I'll also be getting a cat-back (looking at Hooker) at the same time. I believe the first mods that need to be done are to get the engine breathing better with a CAI, headers, ORP or High Flow Cat, and a better flowing cat-back. After that I haven't made any plans. Everyone has their preference--those just happen to be mine.
