Wiring for A/F gauges

Hey, I have some A/F gauges I am installing in my car, I have the power and ground wires all figured out, but I am having some trouble with the wire that goes to the sensor. On a 4 wire 02, which one do I tap in to? And can I tie directly into the wires on the sensor? I don't really like messing with the factory wiring harness. Thanks guys!

Do NOT cut into the wires that come attached to the sensor. Either splice into the factory harness - don't cut the harness... skin the wire, twist it so the strands seperate, then mesh the new wire into the strands and solder it. That way you can not hurt the existing signal to the PCM with a poor splice. Tape very well. Or, go into the PCM connector and add a conductor to each pin... C8 and C20 are the purple and purple/white wires that you need.

I just installed one of these about a month ago.. the illuminated ones are awesome when it is dark outside. It is the purple w/white stripe on it is the one to tap into on. Bryan at PCMforless said that these are pretty much useless. I like the way they look though.

You guys rock. I know they aren't the most useful gauges, but I need them for a little project I'm working on. I am making a new piece to fill the gap left when I switched to the 97+ style console. The new piece looks really good, but is very plain. I'm going to add these 2 gauges, move my manual fan switch to it, and that is also where I am mounting the warning lights for an electric water pump. I might put a few other things there too, there is room. I will post pics when I'm done, it looks really smooth.
