Wireing Headache

I am wanting to eliminate some of the stuff from my wireing harness. Stuff such as a the EGR valve, the wind shield cleaner motor, and stuff like that. Can I just cut the wires and move on.. or will that mess up the computer. Thanks.

Re: Wireing Headache

Body parts like the windshield wiper or washer pump have nothing to do with the PCM, so they will not affect it. The fact that you have deleted the EGR (and possibly other items) will potentially set a code in the PCM, so hopefully you plan to have those codes programmed out. That leaves you with a lot of unused wires that can be removed if you want to. Just make sure not of them is bare and shorting against anything.

Might want to add a "signature" with basic info about your car.... year, tranny type, major mods.
