winter project question

Ok guys, I have a winter project question for you. I am pulling the motor out of my car right now, and I need some help allocating my fund spending. I have around $5000.00 to invest in the whole car, suspension, motor, tranny, etc. I already have a slew of bolt-ons. I know for sure that I'm getting my stock heads done by lloyd elliott, and I want an aggressive cam (weekend warrior
only, I drive an old 1990 honda accord with no mods everyday), but as for all else, I'm not sure. look at my sig for what I already have done. should I spend ALL of the money in the motor?
I know a pro engine builder who said he'd build me a forged 383 stroker and port my heads, on top of doing a custom grind cam install for only $4500, but there would go all my money
and the car only has 75,000 miles on it, so the botton end is alright. I need help here. I don't want to mess up and put all my eggs in one basket. Anyone with some good suggestions, please reply.

i say build up the motor pretty well. If you are going to pull it then you might as well build up the bottom end. If the local guy is ligit then i say invest in that. Then you have 500 to spend. My advise is to buy a strong clutch with that money, i didnt see that you had one. The T56 should hold pretty good(they are very strong), but it would worry me a little with that much hp. Then all you have to worry about is the rear. It sounds to me like you are a track warrior, so you would probably use some sticky tires, but i think that would be the of your rear after a couple passes. The bad thing is that a strong rear is going to set you back about 2k.

yeah, I have been struggling with whether or not to build the bottom end while the motor is out of the car. I know I don't NEED all those extra horses that a 383 would produce, and I could probably spend $1800 in suspension upgrades as opposed to a forged rotating assembly, but decisions, decisions, decisions...
good response though, I need more peoples opinions!

p.s. would slp's clutch for $89.99 not hold up worth a s**t or what? I didn't want to have to spend over $300 on a freakin clutch!

I think that the slp clutch would hold up under a fairly stock motor, but not a H/C combo one. I would get a stronger clutch like the stage 2, or 3. They are made by Spec clutches i think. Im still suprised how much abuse my stock clutch has taken so far.
