windshield wiper help.

I have a weird problem on the 95 Z28 in the sig.

When the wipers get to the end of their path, they make a clacking noise that seems to be the driver side wiper hitting the water channel thing. It seems to be the worst if the wipers are turned all the way on.

My question is can the wipers be adjusted back about 1/2" to stop this?

May have similar problem...

My car's wipers will sometimes change their total sweep by more than a couple inches, and they make a heck of a clacking noise at the top and bottom of the stroke.

I haven't looked them over in detail, but just assumed it was worn out linkage.

Or bushings.

In either case, I'm sure it will be a rather painful job to get the motor-linkage assy out... at least it looks that way, so I have held out for a while on the fix...

Does this sound like your car at all?

Teeeman: Sounds like mine but it just happens when it gets fully extended, not at the bottom of the sweep.
