will these tires fit

my freind with a 94 firebird is runnin 13.1 on street tires but hes spinning a goob ways through 1st gear with an A4. hes doing some suspension mods and He wanted to try drag slicks over DR's and came across a used set of Hoosier 30x9x15's and was wondering would they fit without major modification...

I have 28" Hoosier QTP's, and that is about as large as you can go without altering the fenders. I find that once trap speeds go over 125MPH, the 28" tires grow enough to start hitting the fender opening. I had to move the axle back about 1/4" to keep them from hitting the metal front edges of the wheel openings. Now they just hit the bottom edge of the rubber bumper cover... and that will eventually "radius" itself. A friend of mine is running 29.5" tires on his 30th SS Convert, and he had to have the wheel openings enlarged by a body shop.
