I am using the stock crank and I had my stock rods ground and shot peened with arp bolts. They have made it 21,000 miles since the rebuild with lots-o-power. I would follow 1982's advice and go stock crank with eagles and the lightest piston you can afford.

I am also using arp bolts on a 2 bolt block. You'll be fine if you dont spin it to the moon every day. I have seen 6700rpm NA and I usually shift at 61-6200 with the blower installed.

I cant re use the stock crank its a 383. I know the rod and pistons are over kill, but i want the motor to last and i'm planning on spraying it down the road. I'm going to go ahead and go with 2,3,4 splayed mains from pro gram. I was wondering if i should upgrade the front and back mains or just leave them alone?

And if you feel better buying new lifters, avoid the Comp Rs, consider the LS7 (Cadillac stock) or the Caddilac race lifters (lighter, stronger, ceramic guts, pin oiling) and both choices are very affordable. Ought to mbe measuring pushrod length before buying pushrods anyway, so that slight caveat doesn't matter.
