assuming that you have the cutout mounted behind the muffler (i dont know why you would) yes a high performance muffler would improve the sound over the stock one, but the purpose of a cutout is to bypass the muffler (meaning let out the exhaust gases before they reach the muffler. by doing it this way (mounting the cutout somewhere before the muffler ie. just before the axle bend) you will retain full advantage of the cutout and the muffler has no effect. HTH

yes adding a different muffler will improve the sound, mine sounded much better with a cutout and a flowmaster than my friends with a cutout and stock muffler. adding a different muffler like flowmaster or something like that will sound a little louder and more defined.

oh so what youre trying to say is that you dont really like the sound of the cutout and you were wondering if there was anything you could do to clean up the sound...correct?

...if so ide say get it repositioned to where it isnt pointing directly at the ground (i hear that the exhaust gas bouncing off the ground causes some of the raspyiness).

another alternative is buying a big fat cam, you will love the sound of it running with the cutout

I put a dynomax bullet in front of mine and it sounds a lot better i bought the 16" one and it has a deep idle and it screams at wot

I m going to put an electric cut out on it to make opening it up a lot easier

I put a cutout on after my Flowmaster didn't provide me with any gains.....sounds awesome now! Alot of noise still passes thru the muffler even after the cutout.
