Will a mini starter work?

Hello Guys,

I just have a quick question. My starter is slowly giving up. I need to know if one of the SBC mini starters work (sold by summit). The engine is a 96 LT1. Thanks

Yes they will work if you get the correct teeth for the flywheel.

I have run one for about 3 years now.

Truthfully there is nothing wrong with the stock ones but if you want to save space I know what you mean.

It all depends on your headers, too. I have stepped Kooks and just tried a Powermaster and it would not fit because of the routing of the header tubes...I just installed an LT4 type starter and it fits great and clears everything, at least with my combo.
