will lt1 heads work on a standard small block chevy block?

I have heard of it being done and would like to know what is involved? thanks so much! Rob

I don't believe so. LT1's are reverse cooled, being that the coolant goes through the heads first. That being said, the coolant passages are different.

Why would you want to do that with a standard SBC when there's MUCH better aftermarket heads out there?

It isn't that hard. Any good machine shop could convert them. But as Fastbird93 said, why would you want to?
