Will LS1 injectors work on an LT1?

I know the LS1 injectors are 26lb and mine are 24lb but will they work on my motor?

There is no reason to upgrade injectors unless you are doing heads and cam. You will not see a benefit by going from 24 lb to 26 injectors.

To answer your question, yes they will fit but like my man said above you will not see any benifit from the bigger injectors .

Yeah guys I know I`m actually getting 28lb injectors that were on an LS1 but he upgraded w\ a bigger shot he`s putting on the car.
Those injectors actuall flow 28.8 lb per hour. I am going w\ a CC306 already have bought it and most likely TEA stage 2 heads. I was just unsure if LT1 and LS1 injectors were interchangeable.

Thanks, Mike

i thought the ls1 injectors flowed more on the ls1 because of the fuel pressure difference. but i thought on an lt1 they were very similar to the stock ones??? who knows, i'm probably wrong.

28.8 lb LS1 injectors will flow exactly as your stockers do. LS1 runs on 58 PSI and LT1 runs on 43.5 PSI. The difference in pressure will make them flow the same, if not a lil less than the stockers.

They are the exact same length but are constructed slightly different and installed on the car, they will not go in all the way on the intake side. Worked OK on my car, but some people have problems with leaks. TPIS sells spacers to correct that, but I'm pretty sure by this point you're already decided against them.

Anyone else have any experience with leaking or using the LS1 28lb injectors instead of stock?

Yep, this is kind of like, read the fine print.

Dont waste your money on downgrading, get some Ford SVO which work fine, otherwise your 28.8 pound injectors are only 21.6 pounders.

Dr. Mudge... according to my calculations, the 99-00 injectors (26.4) will flow 22.86 lb/hr at 43.5 PSI and the 97-98/01-03 (28.8) should flow 24.94 lb/hr. The stock 24 lb/hr injectors are set at 24.896 lb/hr in the programming... so using the 97-98/01-03 injectors should be just as using stock injectors.

I'm curious... how did you get the 21.6 lb/hr value?

You got me, I oversimplified my math.

Here is a quick table with common injector types

Here is how to perform the calculations when using a new pressure value

So the 28 lb LS1 injectors would work then?

Tell me more about these spacers. I think I need some, but where would they go?

I put in some 28.8 lb injectors and they work great. The throttle response is definity better. The only problem I had was putting the clips on that hold them to the fuel rail. They didn't want to go on, so I just left them off. I did appear to be having a very tiny leaking problem though right where the injectors go into the intake on a couple of them. I don't know why though because they seem to fit the same as the old ones. Maybe this is where the spacers come into play.

I did one thing that was kind of foolish though. After I took the car out for a drive and put it through its paces I parked it and shut it off and then popped the bonnet. I was looking everything over real well and saw where a couple of the injectors were weeping a tad so I grabbed one and pushed it down a bit. Well, the damn injector pulled right out of the fuel rail and fuel pissed all over! So I need to get some clips on there before I drive it any more. The old clips didn't want to go on for some reason. I think it was because of the little ring area that the clip sits in on the LS1 injectors doesn't go all the way around. Are the LS1 clips different than the LT1 clips?

Here is a picture of the different injectors. You can see the difference of where the clips go easily.
