Will I benefit from a 2 1/2 y pipe with high flow cats?
I have SLP shortie headers with the stock catted y pipe on my 97. I can't use long tubes because it won't pass inspection. My engine was recently rebuilt with a mild cam and home ported heads. Will their be a noticeable difference with a new y pipe and high flow cats 10-15 hp?

yea you'll see some gains, especially if the y-pipe is smaller and is choking the exhaust. The gain is not going to be be that big, but the 10-15 hp you mentioned seems realistic.
