Will f1 procharger fit on lt1?

I am looking to possibly put a f1 procharger on an lt1 f-body? I am wondering if it will fit the d1sc bracket with proper belt allignment. Will the d1sc tubing connect properly because both d1sc and f1 have the same diameter inlet and outlet? Is there any major clearence issues and is it a major hassle? What exactly has to be done to make it fit? Do i need to remove fans or clearence block or frame, etc? I would like to keep my air conditioner and will run better gas if neccessary. I am not looking to set the world on fire with boost just trying to gain some boost back as I am at 7200ft in elevation and don't want to overspin the d1sc trying to regain boost in a 383 stroker? The closest track is at 6000ft in elevation and d1sc stroker cars only seem to get between 10-14 psi max because they lose approx 5-6 psi because of altitude and bad air. If it does fit without to much trouble I will just order a d1sc complete kit with twin high flow intercoolers ang upgrade the head unit to a f1! Thanks for any help or reply!

We have a forced induction forum you might want to try.

The f1 should fit with any clearance issues. As far as the piping and such go you should probably contact Procharger themselves (ph 916.338.2886) or email them at www.procharger.com.

Re: Will f1 procharger fit on lt1?

I called procharger and they never did the combo in a f-body so they did not know. He said the f1 was approx 1/2 to 3/4 thicker then the d1sc with the same diameter so the bracket would work. He did not know if the extra 3/4 of an inch depth would cause a problem. I just wondered if anyone has had first hand experience?

I have a D-1r in the "stock" location and it did take some massaging to fit. The F1 is in the same size and class as a D1 so wouldn't see a problem bolting one up.

If you do a search you will find that this was pretty well hashed out within the last 12-18m.

rskrause, I saw your post that said you just have to trim the electric fans and another guy said it would fit if you clocked the f1 to the 6 o'clock position but you needed to clearence the block! Was yours really that simple, just to clearence the fan shroud? Is your radiator in the factory location? Where they stock fans or aftermarket fans as I would like to keep my air conditioning if possible?

P.S.---You have one mean car with the dual power adders!!!!

Thanks!

I did nothing with the block, just the fan shrouds. Since then I replaced the fans with thinner aftermaket units as there was still some interference. The rad is stock. I had to have a friend fab up a solid intake pipe as the stuff ATI supplied was complete garbage.

BTW: I am using a 12-rib belt. There would be no fan interference with an 8-rib, but I was concerned it might slip too much. As far as I am concerned, cogs and the street don't mix.

Do you have any problems with your 12rib belt slipping at all? If not do you think an 8rib belt would work? I am not interested in the cog set-up because of all the problems associated with it. Thanks for the info, it is greatly appreciated!

No slippage with the 12-rib. Would an 8-rib work? I suppose it might depending on how fast you spin it.
