Will this cam be ok for my 26918 springs?

The cam is from cmotorsports and the # is CC-TS-233XR. The specs are:

233/242 duration @ .050
.569"/.576" lift with 1.6 rockers
114lsa

This will be going into my n/a 383 so I am just wondering if my cc 26918 springs will handle it to about 6500 or so?

If anyone else recommends another cam that will perhaps perform better than this one with my 26918 springs, your welcome to let me know.

Pretty hefty cam. Plan on a lot of off-road, I assume. At any rate, I would concentrate on what kind of performance and driving is going to be done, then select the cam first and afterwards decide which springs will be best suited for the application. If your present springs fit the specis required by the cam then that's a good thing, however selecting a cam to accommodate the springs is like determining which car will fit a set of tires you happen to have. Thanks for the answers, but I emailed cmotorsports and they told me that because of the lt1's steep lobes, this cam may be a little big for comfort with the springs I have.

I haven't decided yet, but I may go down to a cc306 for peace of mind.

And also I didnt think the cam I picked was that hefty for my setup, it being a 383 and all I thought that was supposed to tame the cam down a little.

Actually, I just meant that the cam might affect driveability, but if you don't
mind then you can get some humongous power out of a 383, but you are going to sacrifice daily driving and fuel consumption anytime you go bigger.

Everyone needs to determine what they are going to do with the car-afterall it is a heavy, straight-line muscle car---if you want fast go light and add power: if you plan on racing alot, plan on breaking alot. JMHO

Yep I agree with you, this car won't be a daily driver, but I still want it streetable. With this cam I beleive that it should be ok on the street.
