will a 95 pcm/harness work in a 96

Does anybody know whether a pcm and harness from a 95' M6 will work in a 96 M6? Some of my pins broke off of my pcm in my harness and I can't get them out.

Thanks, Aaron

A 95 harness will not have all the wiring in it a 96 has. There were additional items added because of OBD-II.

Thanks shoebox. Will the pcm work, or is it OBD-1 too?

A 1995 PCM is OBD-I. You could get by if you swapped both harness and PCM. There would be a few things on your 96 engine that would not be reconnected (like crank sensor, rear O2s, EVAP vacuum switch...maybe another thing or two). You would also need an OBD-I knock sensor for the block.

I think that should work. Someone correct me if that is wrong.

Oh, the coil connector is different, so you might need to adapt or change the coil.

Pre 96 use a dual connector coil and 96 and up use a single connector coil. If all you are doing is changing the PCM, you don't have to worry about it.
