Will 6speed car bump start even with VATS broken

My car started acting funny this weekend wouldn't start so i thought starter nop. turn the key and lights Cd player everything works fine just won't try to crank. I'am pretty sure its the VATS I can get a new one tommorow from GM dealer but my question is will the car bump start if VATS is broken? My car bump starts easy thats what i did today 4 times but wouldn't the broken VATS prevent the car from bump starting?

Part of the system includes a "fuel injector enable" signal. If that is not sent by the theft deterrent module to the pcm, it won't run.

so what your saying is the car should not bump start, cause mine does. the car won't crank over but everything works fine and ounce you bump start it it runs just fine? I also checked the fuses all look good.

It would depend on the state of the theft deterrent module. What is the security light doing?

ounce you turn the key forward after a few seconds all the lights go out except the SES and check gauges lights. Maybe its only partialy busted I guess i will get a new key/chip tommorow and see if it works

Based on that, I would say the trouble is not the key or the PassKey module. Might be the clutch start switch or the theft deterrent relay. You can bypass the clutch start switch by pulling off the connector with the yellow and brown wires and jumpering across the harness terminals. It is down on the clutch arm under the dash.

When my key wouldnt work and i had the security light come on, i tried that and it ran for about 2 seconds then died, so i would say no. And all that was broken was one of the 2 wires that connect to make that stupid key work.
