Will 3" pipe fit over driver's side of axle?

Will 3" pipe fit over driver's side of axle?
I know that a 3" pipe will fit over the passenger's side, because thats how big my catback was. But now I have duals with dumps and I want to run them over the axles instead of dumping. Can I fit the driver's side 3" piping over the driver's side of the axle? Would I have to modify anything?
