Will 2pc rear seal cranks work in LT1?

As the title states I got an Eagle 4340 forged 3.625 stroke 2pc crank and I want to use it in an LT1, I know it will physically fit but is there a flywheel that will work with the 2pc cranks?

You'll need a rear main seal adapter for 2 piece cranks in late blocks, the flywheel is specific to the 1 piece vs 2 piece cranks and internal vs. external balance.

Yes - mine's been converted using the Eagle crank and rods (forged) with the Canton adaptor to convert it to a 2 piece. Here's a pic to giv you an idea:

are there advantages to a 2piece over a 1piece?

Easier to change, that's about it. You don't have to remove the tranny, just drop the pan to get to it, so it's a toss up which one is easier. The reason I have one is my engine builder (9 years ago) was a circle track motor guy and he prefered the 2 piece as this is the standard in racing due to it being easier to replace. I'd personally just stick with the one piece design if I were you as it's easier to stay with stock components as if you go with the 2 piece as I did you will need a new flywheel and a new pan as the rear lip/half circle is smaller with the 2 piece.

Well I hear you on staying with the stock configuration and I have an all forged 383 going together but it won't be ready until the end of the year.

But I also just got an Eagle 4340 3.625" stroke 2pc crank from someone who owed me money and I have a Centerforce billet flywheel for use with a 2pc crank in an LT1. So I figured I can get some forged pistons for a 6" rod 383 and some 6.125" rods and build a nice 370" motor to go with my new home ported heads, intake, 58 mm tb, LT's and 847 cam.

Opinions, feedback?

This is the pan I ended up using:

Also, if you want to use a 2 piece main conversion kit here is the one I am using from Canton:

Good luck.

I went with the Centerforce steel flywheel to match up with my CF DF clutch.
