Will 1.6 Roller Rockers work on stock cam & springs

Okay!
I had a guy offer to sell me some Comp Pro 1.6 RRs, that he bought but never ran in his LT1 project, which he is now parting (I'll get a list of parts & prices up for you guys, later) because he found a great deal on an LS1.

My question is: Will a stock cam & springs benefit from this addition, & will it hurt the springs?

Thanks in advance for the input!

Cam is 100% fine. The springs you may want to upgrade. I don't know what lift the stock ones coil bind at, but you don't want that.

And you will gain about 10 hp from them.

Some people run them on stock springs, but I wouldn't.

I especially wouldn't install them on heads with stock springs 14 years old.

Thanks!

Thanks for the input! I'll look for some LT4 springs, if it's worth it!

Nobody mentioned whether there would be a performance increase, or if there would be how much it would be? Is it worth the effort (& of course the money) to change them?

Anyone with experience?

As for if its worth the cost. You can be the judge, but when building a car if you dont get them now, you will just do it later.

If you are going to install a cam later on, get the roller rockers and good springs so you dont have to change them out later. I did LT4 springs first, and had to change them later due to camswap.

It's worth ~10hp on the stock cam, or so it is said.

Performance increase from changing springs? not really but the stock springs are almost so small for stock lift and when your increasing it by switching rockers it's a good idea to change the springs as well.

He could notice a performance increase if his stock springs are shot, and they probably are.

Wow!
I called Summit Racing's Tech line, too, & he said some of the same things that you guys have said, but you are going into much more depth!
This is exactly the type of info that I was needing!
You can see my sig. is there a better idea that I should pursue first, or would this be the next logical progression for the coupe? It IS internally stock...

See you can float your Engine at Higher RPM (4K and up)
Stock Spring with 1.6 RR are the border line.
See if you can get LT4 Springs!

I have the 1.6 gold cranes and LT4 springs, I would definatly get the springs, the stock are very marginal I would definatly not use them. Remeber LT4's came with roller rockers.
