Wierd Leak, Where is it coming from? [Pics Inside]
Re: Wierd Leak, Where is it coming from? [Pics Inside]
You probably have auto tranny fluid in your PS system. I have the same fluid. Did you overfill the PS reservoir? If so, it might be overflowing when you turn the wheel. If you don't see any fluid on the pump then it may be a hose leaking. Check those.

i would bet the coolant bottle is leaking or over flowing, but if not I would put dye in the power steering pump like the other guy said. if all else fails always make sure you know were it's coming from or your just throwing parts at it.. pull the battery and the 3 13 MM bolts below the battery out and see if the leak is on the bottom of the coolant bottle.

If you do decide to work on the PS Pump....pull the fans out. Makes working on the PS pump easy as pie. I have just spent the last week changing mine twice. The first one from Napa sounded like I had a blower under the hood. I yanked it off, took it back, and got one from Autozone. That one works good. Nice and quiet.
A 5/8 flare nut wrench will fit the high pressure line fine. You will need to unmount the PS pump to get the wrench on the high pressure nut.
Remember to use a torque wrench on the PS pump mounting bolts. I didn't torque my PS pump mounting bolts and ended up stripping the holes.....(I was mad at the car 2 years ago and tightened the crap out of them...long story). Needless to say, when I took them out a week ago...the threads came with them. They need 18Lb/Ft.

I guess removing that battery isnt that bad of an idea. I'll give it a shot. Do I buy this dye for the ps fluid at an autozone? Is it special dye?

Actually you are incorrect. No one answered his question about where to buy the dye. How was this comment constructive?

Is it possible to rebuild compessors and replace those seals? Is compressor oil something which is poured into the compessor or something which is sprayed in the system through the fitting on the a/c lines?
Car has been on jacks for about 3 weeks and the thing started to leak..
