You probably have auto tranny fluid in your PS system. I have the same fluid. Did you overfill the PS reservoir? If so, it might be overflowing when you turn the wheel. If you don't see any fluid on the pump then it may be a hose leaking. Check those.

How would I get auto tranny fluid in the power steering? Unless the dumbass previous owner put it in there.

i would bet the coolant bottle is leaking or over flowing, but if not I would put dye in the power steering pump like the other guy said. if all else fails always make sure you know were it's coming from or your just throwing parts at it.. pull the battery and the 3 13 MM bolts below the battery out and see if the leak is on the bottom of the coolant bottle.

Did you think about looking in the ps res. to see what color the fluid is?

It is NOT uncommon to use tranny fluid for the PS.

If you do decide to work on the PS Pump....pull the fans out. Makes working on the PS pump easy as pie. I have just spent the last week changing mine twice. The first one from Napa sounded like I had a blower under the hood. I yanked it off, took it back, and got one from Autozone. That one works good. Nice and quiet.

A 5/8 flare nut wrench will fit the high pressure line fine. You will need to unmount the PS pump to get the wrench on the high pressure nut.

Remember to use a torque wrench on the PS pump mounting bolts. I didn't torque my PS pump mounting bolts and ended up stripping the holes.....(I was mad at the car 2 years ago and tightened the crap out of them...long story). Needless to say, when I took them out a week ago...the threads came with them. They need 18Lb/Ft.

I guess removing that battery isnt that bad of an idea. I'll give it a shot. Do I buy this dye for the ps fluid at an autozone? Is it special dye?

You can buy a kit anywhere that includes dye, special glasses and a special light to illuminate the dye. It works great. Try cleaning the area real good with brake cleaner also so you can see where the leak originates from.

Actually you are incorrect. No one answered his question about where to buy the dye. How was this comment constructive?

Yeah I verified today that it is not ps related. I took the hoses off the pump and moved the pump around and it was 100% dry and I wiped everything, few days later the leak was back and its a clear/yellow tint color, looks like brand new motor oil when you wipe it on a paper towel.

Is it possible to rebuild compessors and replace those seals? Is compressor oil something which is poured into the compessor or something which is sprayed in the system through the fitting on the a/c lines?

Car has been on jacks for about 3 weeks and the thing started to leak..

Well, the car has no longer leaked from that area. So I wana say its the compressor which eventualy leaked all its oil out.
