Wierd Leak, Where is it coming from? [Pics Inside]

I noticed its leaking a red liquid which feels oily around the area of the passengers side half of the front sway bar. It can mainly be seen on the stuff under the a/c compressor. Some of it appears to be dripping off the a/c compressor and onto the stuff below. Its a red color, could it be coming from the a/c or power sterring pump??

Your power steering pump is leaking. Maybe not the pump itself but maybe that stupid high pressure hose. Its a pain in the *** to replace that hose, the pump itself for that matter.

GM engineers decided to put the high pressure hose fitting in a really bad spot. You can get a 16mm wrench on it but you can turn it, no room. You have to pull the pully off the pump to get it off.

You're going to need a 16mm flare nut wrench, and you can take it off, it'll just take some time (you'll have about a 1/4" of work space to turn the wrench). If you want to replace the pump, you'll also need a special puller to swap the pully's.

He's right, I forgot about the stupid fitting under the fitting. I didn't waste time on the fitting, I rented the pully puller from a tool rental place. I took one of the fans of to make more room and loosened it. Then comes the part where you actually have to route the stupid hose back in place. It has about 5 bends it it, they don't make it easy.

Is it possible to just get a seal rebuild kit? The pump still works fine it just leaks.

K I took all the bolts out of the ps pump and moved it around and looked under it w/ a mirror its compeltely dry. Any other ideas where it could be leaking from? The resevoir hose which connets to the pump may have been leaking but its hard to tell now that there is fluid all over the place since I had to disconnect it. But I put a stronger band clamp on it just incase it was leaking.

Any other ideas? Fluid appears to be red, but when you put it on a paper towel it looks like a darker brown/yellow

Put dye in it. Then if it shows up, you know it came from the PS system.

Usually red color liquid is transmission fluid. Typically power steering fluild is a light amber or slight tan color. AC lubricant is typically clear . Now your coolant maybe the gm orange color fluid. But to me the picture fluid looks like transmission fluid. Usually std. trans fluid is like engine oil in color, but some people do add transmission fluid or additives that have a different color.
