spark plug wires fix my problems like that every time. Do plugs and wires and you should be perfect... at least I got that lucky

"The opti will wear out. It has posts and rotor just like any other distributor. I got a 'rebuilt' one from autozone for $129. Works like a charm."
I heard that anything electrical you get from autozone sucks!! Is this true???

I knew i was right (hey 96LT1TX how did i know?i mean MY car doesnt stumble so how the hell did i know that?maybe it was my "tuning secrets" ) . THANKS for the update,i was wonderin what the outcome would be.It should be ok to drive with the EGR unplugged so long as you dont put too heavy a load on the car (drivin up mountain roads an ****). The F-Body cam has an extremely wide lobe separation (115-117 ithink),so it doesnt make hardly any mechanical EGR. anyways,Its supposed to dilute the air charge in the cumbution chamber by drawing exhaust gasses from the Y-Pipe area and prevent low rpm knocking/pinging. Yours is stuck open ,so basically the exhaust gasses are choking your engine at low RPMs.Good find and ood luck.

I left mine unplugged for like 6 months before I got around to replacing it. The part is only $35 or so and its really easy to replace with just 2 bolts holding it on the manifold
