Haven't driven the Z since November. Any problems?
So I put the Z in my $50 a month garage November 1st, and have only brought it out once to drive it a week later. When I did get it out it had a dead battery becuase I had left the console lid open, so I had to jump it. That day I probably only drove about 10-15 miles. Do you think the battery will be dead again? Should I put some Stabil in the gas to keep it good for the winter? I don't know when I'll get it out again as the streets here still have a little snow/ice/slush crap on them and I don't want it on the car. What else should I do to it while in storage? I gave her a fresh shot of Mobil 1 just before parking it.
I thought about disconnecting the battery, but doesn't that iniate the security function on the stereo? I know there's a code you need to input, but don't know where it is. I have the owners manual and everyting though. Maybe it's in there.

Right before I put mine away for the winter, I put some Fuel Stabil in it, put a new shot of mobil 1 in her, and just walked away. Thats all you really need. Some obsessive people put it up on jack stands to take some pressure off of the springs for a few months....If it's a 6 speed, some people also use a stick or pipe to hold in the clutch pedal so the flywheel doesn't freeze to teh clutch disk...that could be ugly when you start her up in the spring.
Jackstands aren't a good idea because the suspension shouldn't be left hanging- unless you are putting the jackstands under the suspension to prevent your tires from flatspotting(I've left my car parked for months at a time and never had that happen though).
You should also really change your oil after you put it in storage, not before. The issue is that condensation/moisture builds up when it is sitting.
If you have a good battery that should be fine. I've had my optima red-top for about 5 years and for 4 of those 5 years my car has been in storage(in a non-heated garage) for probably 60-80% of the time and it's always cranked right up. I do disconnect it when I can remember, but even when I don't it hasnt been an issue.

I Dont mean to Hijack the Thread but what is everybodys take on storing their cars In relation to staring it and letting it run every week for 2o mins or just letting it sit there and not starting it until you can drive it again when you pull it out of storage.
