Hey so you got the car running? It was in fact that the valve lash was set too tight?

I should have the car running by Friday. I pulled the intake and luckily the only damage was the 2 bent pushrods. I siphoned gas that was swimming on top of 6/8 intake ports... that was not cool. I'm thinking since the gas was swimming on top of the valve, the valves never opened enough to let gas through so I believe the cylinders shouldn't have gas in them. Anybody ever have this problem? Any comments?

Also, I have all but 5 valves lashed to between 1/8-1/4 turn past zero consistently. I had my intake manifold off so I could see which lifters are all the way down so there is no second guessing. I'm going to finish the last 5 valves tonight and go pick up some more ultra copper for the intake manifold. Hopefully that should get it pretty close, or at least close enough to start =)
