Why FoMoCo oil in GM's?

Why FoMoCo oil in GM's?
I work as a lube tech and mostly a tire specialist a a wal-mart. My question is: Why is it that every so often I get customers coming in asking for Motorcraft oil to be put in their GM cars. Is there some of benefit? If so, what? If not, why?
