I *should* be knocking on the 12's with my current setup.

I could go for 11s, but that would mean getting some heads, drag radials/slicks.. then that leads to more programming, tuning, and a 12 bolt.. then that leads to nitrous'ed launches, which in turn makes me want bigger injectors, window switches, bottle headers, openers, inline pumps... then when I do hit the 11s, I'll have to get a roll cage, DS safety loop, then some more suspension mods to put the power to the ground..

blah.. too much $$$$ I can't afford it

I'm expecting 11's from my setup and I've bought as many used parts as I could (I didn't want to buy certain things used, however).

I think it's cool to be "forced" to have a cage in your car. I mean anyone can have them, but only the coolest people have them because they are required to by the track .

I trapped over 120 mph on stock heads/stock cam car, ran a high 12 though. Traction was a joke, with temps in the 40s. With traction I "should" have run 11s..I was running bolt ons and a TNT 100 hp wet shot in a 3480 pound (no backseat, no spare, no jack, no front sway bar) car with a street twin clutch and stock suspension except for Eibach Sportline springs... Rear end broke the next day on the street, I bought a Moser 12 bolt.. Now I can launch hard and not really have fear of breaking the rear, and I can run ET Streets. Im doing some valvetrain work now (lifters, pushrods, roller rockers, and cam), suspension (BMR Extreme Duty Torque arm, subframe connectors, panhard rod, lower control arms and relocation brackets, larger rear sway bar for now) and pilling up to a 150 shot and adding an inline fuel pump for safety sake. Also going to try and get the weight back down to the 3480-3490 range since the rear end/suspension parts are probably adding at least 100 lbs to the car. I had BETTER run at least an 11....

edit: the several 120+ mph passes were on stock rear with 3.42s and Nitto 315/35/17 drag radials. New rear end has 3.73 gears, so hopefully that will also provide a gain.

I'm "conveiniently" planning to break my rear this summer...good excuse to go 9 inch I think with the motor I'm droppin' in tomorrow, and some suspension work, i'll be into the 11's. If not I'll just hafta call Vortech next summer.

well I planning on running as fast as my car can go before they require a rollcage out of me. Not sure what the rules are for conveertibles, but I have read a few posts that said 5 point was good from 14.0 to 11.0, lot of you guys are saying you need a cage after 11.9 in a hardtop, if thats true then my vert will surely need a cage sooner, I hope your all wrong, I really want 11.0 Bad!
