why do i keep going through Exhaust manifolds gasket

i just put headers on and i went through both gaskets in under a month, and before i put the headers on i had to change both side twice before, the car only got 100k, so why do i keep having to change them. i am starting to go crazy

Need some more details- what kind of headers? Did you buy them new or used? What kind of gaskets?

Here's what I did, and have never had a problem even with a set of well used SLP mids- Fel-pro gasket with a little bit of orange high temp RTV gasket maker smeared on each side. Put it all together and let the RTV set up over night before you drive it.

there pacestters mid's but it was doing it before the headers, could it just be a bad install.where i live there really isn't a performance shops around i wish.

Because room is tight it's very difficult to get in there and snug down the bolts. I suspect this may be part of the problem. Do the process I was talking about above, and then pay very close attention to getting all the bolts good and tight. Remember you are working with aluminum heads which is quite a bit softer than iron, so if you overtighten you could strip out the heads.
