Why do i keep going through alternators?? Also question about a/c delco waranty

Tonight i was taking a friend for a spin, drop into 2nd and my check gauges light came on. Turned my dash lights on and sure enough my alternator had died.....AGAIN

I now have 90k miles and have replaced the alternator at 42k, 58k, 74k and now again at 90k miles

When it went out at 74,000 mile i desided to get a A/C delco reman' instead of the Oh'rieleys reman' i had been using in the past. My question is, is there any kind of waranty on this genuine AC delco Alternator?? Sure would be nice. If you got one let me know.

Thanks guys!

hmmm are u running a lot of stereo in your car??

make sure your battery is good! that could be killing your alternators indeed even if the battery holds a charge it could still have a dead cell... i would get it checked out.. just go to autozone and get a lifetime warranty alternator.. then at least you wont have to buy a new one everytime

Heres the situation
I am in Texas right now, but i bought the alt from a florida company(is went out half way back from miami to daytona at 2 am)
Now i looked up acdelco alt's on autozone.com and advanced auto and it says "lifetime waranty" on the delco remys. I called up bennett auto suply(fl company) and they said that they only offer a 1yr warranty. ????

Who give the waranty? the seller or the manufacture? Do you think i can take this to a local autozone or discount and get it replaced for free? I have the box and the recept from the florida company

Like it was said earlier, Make sure ur battery isn't dead. IT MUST BE FULLY CHARGED! If not the alt. will assume the battery is dead and thus go into "overload" trying to charge it up and u'll blow the voltage regualator in it, and with those alt.s have an internal VR you'll need to replace to whole thing! I work at autozone and we carry 3 diff. alts for our cars. 1- Duralast Gold. Lifetime wrnty. Brand New never been on a vehicle! 2- (regular)Duralast reman. but still comes with a lifetime wrnty. 3- CS Series alt. Reman. with a 1 year wrnty. Bring them(alt. and Battery) to a local autozone and have them check both out! Don't bring the whole car tho because even if u charge the batt. ur self it'll still have drained off the batt. and we cannot get an accuret reading off the battery if its not fully charged, and if the batt. not fully charged the test on it won't be accuret nor would the test on the Alt. be accuret. So i suggest u take out the batt. and alt and bring them up to Autozone and let someone check them each seperatly!
Hope this helps!

Tanks for the reply
Im nearly 100% positive the battery is fine. i have been doing alot work on my car lately, and even with my sub on, i will listen to the cars stereo for up to 4 hours with no problem starting, it was replace recently.

I called advanced here in san antonio and they said is should have a lifetime warranty on it, i just need to bring it it so they can "check if its theirs" ?????

Still dunno if the warranty is from the ac delco or from the place were you bought it
