I'm pretty sure he had a sway bar similar to the stock one in that picture. The stock one isn't heavy enough.
The easiest way to keep the car level, pulling both sides of the front up evenly, and keeping the car going straight down the track is an OVERSIZE rear swaybar, like the Wolfe or Spohn 1-5/16" solid chrome moly, with adjustable rod-end links.
