I'm planning on putting an LT1+T56 in my '88 T/A and I want the quickest times with the least MPG loss. This will be my daily driver, so city MPG's needed too. Post your power combo's and MPG!!

 

I've been getting 16mpg in freeway driving which is a decent amount of stop and go and 5 years ago when I moved to AZ I got 21mpg on the HWY when I still had a auto.

I haven't really raced mine (it's just a cruiser), but I put down 381 rwhp. That should be good for 12s easy. I get 24-25 mpg cruising on the freeway and about 0.5 mpg getting on it.

Nothing like hitting the rev limiter in third at the top of the onramp and looking over to see a highway patrol motorcycle one lane over. Why no officer, I wasn't speeding. I was only doing 98 in a 55...

I managed to get 22 mph with the motor in the sig, with 4.11's and a six speed. Most of the time its 19 or so though.

 

Thanks, the main reason I'm going with a 6-speed is because of the mileage! I've got a built 700R4 now, and I get good like 17 city and almost 28 highway, but that's with a stock 305 TBI and 2.73 gears.

 

I get about 17-17.5mpg combined city/highway driving.

 

12.4 at 115 mph. Good heads, LT4 HOT cam, AS&M headers, 4.10 gears, M6, the other normal bolt ons.

Car gets 25 mpg on the freeway/interstate.

My bud's car is in the low 11s at 119 something mph and gets 21 mpg. He has an M6 and has 4.55 gears! He has good heads, a cam comparable to a CC306 (I think) Hooker long tubes, and wide tires

Low 12s and 15mpg is fairly easy. 20+ mpg is a little more difficult but definitely doable.

My 94Z supercharged A4 ran a 12.8 at 112. I then put on long tubes and a 4" exhaust but haven't run the car. I expect it could be a low 12 second car too and it gets 21/22 mpg with 3.23 gears.

 

Cool. I was thinking of this setup: Super Ram, Lloyd Elliot heads and matching cam (suitable for street driving), coated SLP shorty headers and y-pipe w/3" cat, and a T56.
I was also thinking of a 383....what affect does the 383 rotating assembly have on gas mileage? Would you think this setup would get better MPG Supercharged or 383? Or do you have any other suggestions for my setup?

 

I was getting 18 MPG when I still had the 10.5" lockup converter in it. At that time, the car was running 12.18.....With 4.10 gears, and an A4.

My friend has a 95 Z 6 speed with exhaust , rockers and some other bolt ons. He gets like 15 mpg. we know his opti is going south, but why such the bad mielage. we are about to put in a hot cam and 4.10's. I dont even want to know how bad its gonna be.

 

i got 20-22 coming back from pickin my car up in Ohio...but i get about 10 in town and rompin on it all the time!

 

My car averaged 25mpg on the last road trip. That was with 3.42's and the setup in the sig.
