G-techs are not THAT far off. E.T.s are pretty close and the MPH are typically 2-3 MPH faster than the track.

I gotta call BS. I usually giver everyone the benefit of the doubt, but those numbers just don't make sense. I run 7.5's and 7.6's in the 1/8 mile with speeds of 88-90mph...

And 117 is easily enough mph for 11's in the 1/4 mile.

You have a 1994 with headers and you claim 94 mph in the 1/8 mile? Either somebodies clocks are really screwed up of the BS here is deeper than I have boots.

Redeem yourself and tell us what really is going on. Looks like you might have to start a new user profile if not... that is if you want to be taken seriously.

stereo man,
i understand that not mounting the g-tech in the proper location will cause false readings. also i have read that false calibration will schew the numbers. i don't have any personal experience with the g-tech, but have read numerous posts about user error reporting false numbers. i know he didn't go to the track because tracks do not report 0-60 times.

yes i did go to moroso motor sports to test my new car and yes i do have G-tech i dont think the numbers are off, i tried 3 dif times
and first time i did low 14s then 13 high and then the best time .

something is fishy, yes like the horse power, i know theres no way in hell i can have above 340 hp with what i have and this g-tech thing says i made 349 hp at 4500 rpm range and almost 360 torque.

i got the 0-60 from g-tech and the 1/4 mile in moroso .

If those trap speeds are correct theres no way you have the stock cam in there and it probably had something done to the heads. Plus there are likely other boltons that you're not aware of. As mentioned 117mph traps are good for 11's. If that trap speed is for real, congrats though, you picked up a real runner there

As big an LT1 junkie as I am, I really wish that they would hit those trapspeeds with such minimal mods. There's more to your car than what you've been told. I've got a ton of mods and I'm only hitting 12.06 @ 116mph, and even with my mods, that's a high mph for what I have.

You've gotta have much more than just basic bolt-ons to run that fast, your GTech is WAY OFF, or you're just full of

i got the car for 4.800 this is the truth price the car is in perfect condition runs strong and takes off really fast, my friend did say that theres no way in hell i had stock gears cuss he drove it and noticed how fast it would hit 0-60 or 60 feet .

about motors i dont know nothing,im just starting, i always liked trans ams but i did not had the money to buy one till this year.

the father of the owner of the car did not know nothing about this car, only hes son knows but hes in jail and im not gona go to jail just to ask this guy hey is the trans am stock or u did something to it LOL.

il be driving this bad as car and hel be in jail trying to kill hes father LOL.

i looked at the motor and i dont see no changes but all seems to be really clean the fuel injectors look wierd they are red i seen em stock are gray i think, mine are red and the cover of the heads are red too, he p painted the port or something i dont know.

what do u guys think?

the times are true, i tried 3 dif times and all were dif below are 2 dif runs.

RUN # 1 RUN#2
1/4 mile et 14.333secs 1/4 mile ET 13.138secs
102 mph 117.03mph

on the first run i remember that i hit the gas all the way but the car just stayed there in one place i noticed from there i had lot of power so i whent a little slow on the gas and she took off .

on the last run i started with the gas pedal more than half way trying not to spin the tires to hard, and that is how i got my best time.

my tires are z06 17 inch rims.

The LT4 is an upgrade of the stock LT1 motor that was available in 96 Vettes, and a few 97 Camaro SSs and Firebird Firehawks. The intake manifold (the center part of the engine) is powdercoated read to differentiate it from a stock LT1. The main differences in the LT4 were:
Intake manifold (red powerdercoat)
LT4 heads: much better flowing than stock w/ 1.6roller rockers (LT1s had 1.5RRs), larger (and lighter) intake and exhaust valves

There is also an LT4 "kit" that many people put on their LT1s that include the above, but also have the LT4 hotcam which is significantly larger than either the stock LT1 or LT4 cam.

A stock LT4 motor, properly tuned makes 300+RWHP. Mine for instance makes 311RWHP stock with a tuned ECM, which works out to about 365 flywheel HP.

An LT4 motor with the Hotcam and tuning should make 330+RWHP through stock exhaust manifolds and can make up to 350-360RWHP with headers and all the other bolt ons.

Dang!!! If what you say is true, then you got one heck of a buy.

So the 117 mph trap was at the track? Not the G-tech?

I think you can understand why I questioned you before, since normally, LT1's with cold air intake and headers will see 102-106 mph in the 1/4 mile. Something like 117 mph is way out of that range.

Sounds like you have a lot of work done that you don't know about. Definately upgraded injectors, which probably means bigger cam and maybe ported heads. Maybe an upgraded intake, but it could just be painted.

If you could get a picture of the engine, I bet a lot of people on here might be able to give you an idea of what you have.

Oh, and once you learn how to drive it well at the track, you will easily see low 12's, or 11's with those trap speeds.

That is, of coarse, if what you say is all true

Here's a picture of my LT4 engine:
http://www.lt1.net/images/Firehawk/engine2.jpg

If the previous owner of your car did the LT4 kit, you'd have the same intake, but the throttle body plate would probably still be stock and not have the "Grand Sport" on it.
