Whoah, summit rebuild kits, this any good?

Was looking at the pistons on my summit magazine and I saw a sealed power/fel pro rebuild kit which included forged pistons, rings, bearings, head gaskets, exhaust gaskets, federal mogul engine lube, freeze plugs, timing cover gasket oil pan gasket, just about everything for 529.95. Compression ratio of 10.40:1. Of course I want to get about 10.80:1-11:1 on my new stroker. Are sealed power forged pistons any good? I was gonna buy the keith blacks for $250 (hyper pistons) but seeing this comes with the rings and gaskets i'll save a buttload actually upgrading to forged. Good deal?

Im definatley going with forged rods and most likely a cast crank.

I used that kit in my engine and it has performed flawlessly for over 20K hard miles, including the occasional spray. It's a great kit, but make sure you pick up some new seals for the steam pipe, as they're not included. Definately get the rotating assembly balanced, as those pistons are much heavier than the stock pieces. It took two large pieces of Mallory metal to balance my crank.

Awesome, I saw that and just called and its definatley not a mis print. Aren't all forged pistons (assuming you didn't order a light weight brand) heavier than hyper or cast?

Okay quick question. If I got ordered the rods bushed, do the pistons have to be able to accept a floating pin or do I need to re-order the rods as press pin?

Yes pistons should be for floating pins.
