Thumbs up

That would be awesome, i'd much rather buy an aftermarket product then spending the money to buy a oem product that will probably have the same imperfections that the originals have. but since we are LT1 and not LS1, we'll probably keep getting shafted, unfortunately. Anything that would help us out Im always for.

just keep after them.

MSD, just do something. Either a new distributor or your own version of a better opti. I can guarentee tons of sales

Well, GM's parts list quote for the opti is like $400+; but the opti can be had from the right person (Jason Cromer) in the $200 range. And, I'd DEFINITELY install that myself...because when it comes to plugs/wires on our cars...dealers and most mechanics charge an *** LOAD for labor!

GUYS: Was reading over in Advance Tech, the guy in the most recent GM High Tech Performance was able to rig up a working standard distributor set up on his LT1 car (LT4 block and heads technically). Said he used MSD Billet Distributor 8570 ($229 from Summit, I checked), and that something had to be done in the form of a conversion to an IPU (I HAVE NO CLUE WHAT THAT IS) and that F.A.S.T could do that for $40+

The Distrubutor (if you haven't seen it) mounts to the rear of the LT1 intake and looks REALLY nice and professional. He said he had to ditch the EGR stuff in order to fab a collar for the distributor (no prob for me, no emmisions).

Well, that's food for thought...we now KNOW that it CAN be done!

Here is an idea. Let's all ,eet up somewhere maybe Las Vegas and bring all of our junk OPti's. I have four myself. Then we will call the press and have and opti crap bonfire. Maybe that would get their attention. The next time mine goes hello Motec.

I would be definitely interested in whatever MSD came up with for the LT1.

Between LTCC and the Dynaspark opti, there is no reason to ever use a stock opti again, and no reason for MSD to get involved either.
