I am still in on it. Like Summit, MSD is a big boat with a small rudder, so it takes a long time to turn it around. it took me 2 years to get a LT1 section in the catalog, and a year after that to get mroe than 2 pages.
To update everyone...
Thank you for all the replies. MSD has yet to contact me regarding plans for production. I have been told by their marketing guys that they are working on it, but who knows.
Hurst is dragging their feet on the A4 shifter. Again, marketing guys say it is a go and they have a prototype, but product guys say they have drawings. No offense to marketing people, but I tend to believe the product people...
I will resend this thread to MSD and try to get some answers.
Thanks again....this thread is not dead, it just has a hesistation/stumbling problem that's ignition related. (sorry bad joke)

I would definitely be in for one. My fuel pump is bad right now and I dread having to replace it with a "stock" solution. There is so much labor involved, that I want to replace it with something good and long-lasting. For the distributor, that is a big job and requires mucho labor. If my opti went again, I wouldn't want another "stock" solution. An MSD solution would be great.
Im about a week away from replacing my Opti for the first time
I would pay out to get something else if I had an option. This Opti thing is pretty troubling. I just hope I dont get water on the new one or Ill be doing it again
Keep us up to date!

I would be interested in a aftermarket replacement but I am also curious if anyone has looked into what is invloved in waterproofing a stock one. Having not replaced mine yet I'm unfamiliar with if it is possible. I have a 93 with 135K miles and it's working fine (not washed the engine though). I think I read somewhere about the 93 being non-vented, is that the problem with later ones and why mine still works?
