Damn, you really should put the rev limiter back on.

Considering that your car is a '93 that may have a lot miles on it, you may wanna quit racing it to preserve it's engine life. Over-revving a stock engine that many times is NOT GOOD!

A little math lesson.... 1st gear ratio X rear axle ratio = 1st gear torque multiplication at the rear wheels:

94 and later

2.66 X 3.42 = 9.097

93 options:

M29:

2.97 X 3.23 = 9.59

M28:

3.36 X 2.73 = 9.17

ergo.... a 93 will pull harder in 1st gear, even with 2.73's.

"Dogs"? I don't think so.

Anything can happen at any time on any given motor. Just because it's a 93 and may have more miles doesn't mean he should just quit racing it. Now not missing a shift and overrevving is another story. There's more than a few guys, myself included, with a lot of miles racing our cars. And yes, I own a 93 too.

I'd be most concerened about lifters or pushrods or valve springs revving that high...Also, main bearings as well...I'd definitly lower that rev limiter..

Stop Racing Racing's life man!!!

You never just stop......once it's with you it's always with you. You blow a motor you build a new one.......you lose a race you race again......etc.

O yea and put that Rev Limiter back on........it's there for a reason, unless you are running a beefed up top end and the motor is built for that stress.
