Who is running a single plane with an elbow?
Re: Who is running a single plane with an elbow?
Which throttlebody are you running? If it is a ford style, how did you handle the electronics (TPS, IAC). I am trying to run the stock pcm. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
Re: Who is running a single plane with an elbow?
Ford Style, its an accufab 90mm.
The IAC needs an GM IAC adapter from accel. It bolts onto the TB and allows you to run the old 4 pin square connection IAC motors like what was on the 1993 camaro and a bunch of the 3rd gen stuff. This IAC motor will work with obd1 and obd2 computers (wiring is the same, just different motor and connector).
The Ford TPS is suppossed to work with our computers (both 5v reference) but i didnt have any luck with it. The TPS was old so maybe it was bad? I ended up taking a stock TPS and moddifying it to fit the Ford TB shaft. Had to grind the back of it flat, and then epoxy the TPS's back so it had the same shape as the ford shaft (one was a flat screw driver shape, the other was a half moon shape).
Stock computer here too, all works well. Expect a NIGHTMARE tuning the tip in throttle. The TB is so big that it instantly goes lean when you give it some gas. Ive gotten mine so that it will at least drive fairly well, but the lean hesitation is still present.

I am actually thinking about a 75mm or 80mm to see if the tip in is not as bad. I have heard nightmares of 90mm on a LS1.

Sorry just saw you had replied. I welded a stock TB throttle connection onto the ford unit so it retained cruise and stuff. You will need LS1 style throttle cables since they are a little longer.
Shoot me an email address and Ill send a pic or two
