Who here did NOT reuse their stock rear spring dampener?
I'm going to take the rear end apart tomorrow since my car has been sitting on a slight incline (rear facing down the incline), with a heavy custom sub box sitting pretty much directly above the springs and my rear is still not low like the front. I've drove her about 50 clicks today, and I'm not sure how much its going to 'settle'
Has anyone done the cut garden hose method, where you cut off a piece of heavy duty garden hose and pass the top coil of the spring through it?
I also want to find out wtf is clunking back there every time I hit a bump, but thats besides the point.

1msfyter: did you find that the spring later settled and your car was too low in the back? i think i might take my stock spring down there to get the right diameter hose.
K guys heres how it looks right now, i have the rearend up on jackstands and the tires off, and the axle supported by a jack.
Is there supposed to be a rubber bushing on the topside of the shock (inside the car) and another one at the top of the shick before it passes through the chassis of the car?
It seems the end of my coil on the top is not quite snug to the sweet spot of the dampener on the passenger side.
On the driver side its quite a ways back from the dampener end, musta went like that when i was trying to place the spring on its seat.
Could this be giving me this sound in the rear end that basically sounds like something is loose? Its a ka-chunk sound that I get if I hit a crack in the road of a pothole. Other than that she rides perfect.
I was beginning to think I left my sway bar bushing untightened, but thats not the case.

As I recall there is supposed to be two rubber bushings for your upper shock mount, one on top and one under the chassis.
Properly locating your springs in the upper isolator might help.
I had a similar noise and found that it was due to loose bolts on the rear lower control arms.
You also might check to see that your spare tire and jack are still well secured.

all fixed.
It seems that the stock dampeners (at least the driver's side) must have been making the noise, because the the spring wasn;t properly seated into it.
I used some rubber hose instead of the dampeners and not only is my kachunk clunking sound gone but it has fixed the ride height of the rear.
