Who has run a 110LSA cam in here?

I'm looking at a 224/236 110 cam, just wondering if anyone has run anything like this?

Keep in mind that that low of an LSA lowers vacuum that runs your brake booster. I would not go with an LSA lower than 112.

I have a 110 lsa in mine, and I don't have any vaccum problems, even on the stock program, but I do have an M6....?

I'm pretty sure a 110LSA can be used if the duration is kept modest. I can't back that up though as I've never seen an LT1 with a 110LSA.

Bret, Im guessing this might be going in my motor? Guys, would the vacuum issue be as great if it was going in a 383 as oppossed to a 350?

I'm running a 242/242 .606/.606 solid with a 109LSA in an A4 w/3.73's and have not had any problems in my 383.

O.k., O.k.

I posted this to get a feel for what you guys are running.

I know what a tighter LSA does, I was just doing some research to see how it idled with the big durations that are normally run here.

This turned into a flame war someplace else. Thanks for your answers though. It's what I figured, not worth the comprimises.

Thanks,

Bret

Bret,

There is a gentlemen in our Corvette club running one of Isky's cams on a 110 degree lsa (230/236@.050... something along those lines). The thing makes excellent power and is probably one of the strongest heads-cam LT1 cars I've been in to date. The idle is strong enough to run his power brakes without a can.

Interesting. I wonder how good his heads are?

Bret,

That's an easy question. He's running a box-stock set of AFR 195's. They only work to them was a little blending in the bowls. I'll get the exact cam part number for you tomorrow when I have a chance to speak with him.

edit: I kind of contradicted the term box-stock there. Let's just put it this way.... I saw the head work before the valves went in and everything looked like CNC tooling marks except for the area blending into the seat. Maybe 10 minutes of blending per head.
