A setup liek yours, basically stock, will not benefit from increasing the redline over stock.

Re: where is your rev limit

i was curious because someone told me that thier friend was running his to 6500 rpm stock.

my goal with my set-up is to get it to downshift into 2nd at 70 mph.

reasons unknown

I left mine at stock.......I didn't change any of my shift points or rev limiter...just the shift firmness. Mine's still shifting 1-2 at around 5800.

Like Rich mentioned - with a stock set-up, you will not benefit from revving much higher than the factory redline because your power drops off before that. By raising the limiter, you are just increasing your chances of hurting your engine without making your car quicker.

Re: where is your rev limit

I do not know that gearing of the A4's, but you could still set your rev limiter to allow you to drop into 2nd at 70 mph assuming that the matching rpm isn't too high (hopefully an A4 guy can step in on that). Just know that you will not be making your car any faster in the 1/4 mile because you are out of your peak power range longer, and you are also putting more stress on your engine.

Re: where is your rev limit

Just out of curiousity, why do you want to drop into 2nd at 70mph? I like to drop down into 2nd at about 50 mph with my M6 and it is a lot of fun and I know I can wrap 2nd out to the mid 60's mph (with my rev limiter at 6,400) so I am guessing you could be okay dropping into 2nd at 70mph with the A4 (again, hopefully an A4 guy can step in), but just make sure that after you drop down you still have enough rpm to accelerate before hitting the rev limiter / upshifting again.
