Where is the temp sensor

1. After replacing my Opti and W/P with electric my fans are staying on all the time. Where is the sensor that tells the fans to turn on? I must have left it unplugged or something.

2. I cut the wires for the air pump and was going to use them for the EWP but decided to go another route. I want to eliminate the air pump altogether. Can I just leave that wire unplugged or will it throw a code?

3. What Amp relay should I use on the EWP to keep it running all the time?

The temp sensor for the computer is on the water pump.

If you get under the car, look straight up at the water pump and you will see the switch sticking straight out. Surprisingly, there's plenty of room around it.

Re: Where is the temp sensor

Thanks guys that should be prefect I must have missed it. I am pretty sure anyway thats why the fans running all the time. Any idea about the other questions. I have a fuse but would like a relay instead of direct power from the fuse block to the water pump. and the air pump I sholdnt have cut the wires until I was sure and I really really shouldnt have cut them so short I couldnt put it all back together, but I dont want it anyway.

Re: Where is the temp sensor

I'm guessing you're asking about the 93 Z28. If you simply unplugged the AIR pump, made sure there was a good fuse in the circuit, and left the plug hanging there, you will not get a code.

If your AIR pump fuse is blown (when you cut the wires), you will get a code, and the fans will run all the time.

I will have to check that but I cut the plug off of the air pump and left the wire from the ECM hanging. I wouldnt think it would blow the fuse but I am getting a code (will have to pull it tonight) and the fans are running all the time. I just assumed it was because I maybe missed plugging in the temp sensor

Re: Where is the temp sensor

I pulled my '94 air pump relay and the ses light came on along with the fans.
No code showed though. Put the relay back in and the light stayed off and the fans worked normally.

You had a code... you just didn't know how to retrieve it.
