Someone help me here.
I bought a standard SBC right side rubber motor mount for $8.00 but obviously it wont fit like the LT1 motor mount is supposed to. The rubber piece inside this standard mounts looks identical to the one in the LT1 mount.
I think I can open the shell on the standard mount, get the rubber and put it in my LT1 shell. This would reduce the cost of the replacement from $90 to less than $10.00.
Does this sound possbile and has anyone done this?
I then want to see the rubber out of an LS1 mount, it may be similar to the left side LT1 mount. It sure appears so from a simple picture. I dont know what the price is of a LS1 mount so I might be better off just sticking to the right side mount.
What do you guys think?

Update,
Got the rubber ones back in and I like it a whole lot better just like stock, however I can feel the cam a tad. That wicked vibe when the motor is running is gone. If this were a race car I would have kept the poly mounts.
I bought a STD SBC motor mount for $10.00, drilled the rivets and removed the rubber and installed in my LT1 right side mount shell. The rubbers are the same and this saved a lot of money.
