where get a new lt1?

Well i wanna know where i can get a brand new lt1, cause before i do any headers or supercharging... i wanna fresh engine

so where would you recomend i get one... or should i goto a dealer?

I say build one, whether it be the one you have or another that you run across. Especially if you're planning on forking over the cash for a LT1 from the dealer. I'm not sure on an exact price through a dealer, but you could have a heck of a lot better engine than a bone stock one for that kind of money.

just buy an overhaul kit, and rebuild what you have. Also, an engine doesnt have to be new to hold upto mods. Got guys here running cams and high mile lt1's

GM stopped making the LT1 engine at least 3 years ago. Every once in a while, Burt Chevrolet in Denver seems to find a few that have been put away in warehouses.

But it would be foolish to buy a brand new (factory) engine if you were going to S/C it, since you would end up replacing most of the factory parts with upgraded components to handle the S/C. As people above have indicated, rebuild your old engine, buy a used block and start building, or buy a rebuilt short block or long block incorporating the rotating assembly upgrades you will need for the S/C. For very little extra, you could have a 383 instead of a stock 350.
