Re: Where to check for vaccum and fuel pressure

On the back of your fuel rail is a Schrader valve (like a tire valve). A fuel pressure gauge will come with a hose that will thread onto this valve. With the engine running and the fuel pressure regulator vacuum line connected, you'll see around 35 psi at idle, with the vacuum line disconnected, it should read around 43 psi.

A vacuum gauge can be "T'd" into any vacuum port off the intake manifold (like where the fuel pressure regulator gets its vacuum. A stock engine idling will probably draw around 20 inches of vacuum.

Do the upgrades in the engine change what the numbers should read?

The cam may change what the vac should read. Probably shouldn't be any lower than 17 though. Fuel pressure should be the same as what OBE said.
