Where to buy fuel pump bucket glue?

I'm replacing my stock pump with the Granatelli Motorsports (Walbro) 255lph pump, I bought it from Summit, it's the one listed in the LT1 parts section for $125. Does anyone know where I can buy some of this glue for the fuel pump bucket? I've tried several auto parts stores this weekend and they're all clueless as to what I'm even talking about. The "complete" kit not only doesn't include the special glue for the pump bucket, it doesn't even mention anything about the bucket in their extremely vague instruction sheet. Oh, and the filter they include only fits directly to the pump, it doesn't fit on the bottom of our stock fuel pump bucket where it should so I guess I'm reusing the stock one. I am so freakin pissed at Granatelli for this half *** kit of theirs right now I want to scream Anyone know where I can get this glue? Thanks.

Maybe you should try to contact Racetronix? They sell the kit complete with the glue and a proper sized filter. Maybe they could sell you those pieces separately.

Arctic, yeah I couldn't be more dissapointd with this kit of theirs. I really can't beleive Summit lists this as an LT1 specific kit, what a freaking joke. The filter they included only fits the pump directly, it doesn't fit the bottom of our fuel bucket, plus it's a tiny little thing compared to our pretty large stock one. Also the fuel line is straight and not molded curved like they show in the pic and needs to be shortened, that's not too big of a deal but it's also not LT1 specific. Hopefully that glue is holding up ok for you but I'm a little leary of using it. It may be fuel safe but does that mean it's designed to be immersed in fuel 24/7? Maybe it is but I'd rather wait at this point to be sure I have the right stuff.

Black, I did read that the Racetronix kit comes with the right glue, I think I'll contact them to get some, I guess I should have gone with their kit. I was hoping to find some today to wrap this project up, looks like the car will be down for another week now.

Did I mention how pissed I am at GMS (and Summit!) right now for buying this incomplete, misrepresented, POS, freakin kit of thiers?

Some people choose to not reinstall the bucket, and fix the pump itself to the fuel pump assembly tree. Here's why you should reuse the bucket, courtesy of Racetronix:

Even if you did get the glue you still can not use the pump you have in the bucket. The pump Racetronix supplies is machined with an o-ring at the bottom so it will seal in the bottom of the bucket. If you use an off-the-shelf Walbro it will suck air and create problems.

The wiring and tubing is another issue.

You are unable to evaluate what the pump is doing unless you have it and the bucket setup on a test bench. This way you can measure the pump's volume at pressure and see if it is aerating the fuel.

The inlet of the pump will not seal by simply jamming it into the bottom of the bucket. That is why we have an o-ring on the pump. GM has a rubber gasket. At high volume (HP) requirements and low tank fuel levels the difference will become apparent. If the pump is allowed to suck air due to lack of a good seal it will substantially shorten the life of the pump, promote unstable fuel pressure and detonation.

The GM filter sock will not provide adequate filtering at 70 microns compared to the 30 micron filter sock we supply in order to protect the Walbro's gerotor parts.

Besides... if you can buy a Racetronix 255L/Hr high-pressure pump system for $149.99 which is configured properly, comes with all the plumbing, wiring and hardware for proper installation into a F-LT1 vs. a low pressure 255L/Hr pump from Summit for $130.00 which would you buy?

Jack, thanks for the great info on your kit and the importance of reusing the stock fuel bucket. I figured it must be pretty important to reuse it otherwise why would GM have installed it that way. The worst part of the instructions that come with the GMS/Summit kit is they don't even show or mention the fuel bucket? Also they include a new base gasket for the bottom of the pump that seems to fit pretty well but nothing for a new top gasket, and the stock one I took off the old pump had to be hacked to fit anything close to right which concerns me. Then of course if you are using that base gasket you must be reusing the bucket, but wheres the glue or a mention of it? As a "LT1 kit" all this really amazed me. Since I now have to wait until next weekend to work on this again anyway I'm going to be sending this "kit" back to Summit and ordering one of yours today. Thanks again for your help. Gregg

P.S. I'm really thinking of posting a warning to everyone here on using this Summit kit but I really don't want to bash them. I like what they have done putting together the LT1 product section and I buy lots of stuff from them but this one really pissed me off. Most parts I have bought from them aren't LT1 specific and this is the first problem I've had with them in years. I don't like to bash companies for minor things but this kit of theirs is pretty misleading. I know there is a guy on here that represents Summit, if someone knows him let me know or direct him to this thread because they really need to work on this "kit" of theirs.

Ditto that.

I just put in a Rcetronix kit and I have to say it was the single most complete mod I have ever done. The kit had EVERYTHING. Glue, Zip ties, wiring harnesses, fuses etc. I was having some 'head up my a$$' problems with the install, so I e-mailed Racetronix and their tech line and they had a response to me almost immediately. Best tech/customer service level I have seen. You seriously can't have your **** together any more than these guys do.

I got the Racetronix pump too. But I only got the pump, not the whole kit. But it was still complete and very easy to install.
