Where to buy 1.7 RR?

I have the hotcam and soon will have ported heads. I was considering going to a bigger cam, but now Im thinking maybe I'll just swap the 1.6 rr for some 1.7. So wheres the best price to pick them up? Also, how much is a set of 1.6 RR that came in the hotcam kit worth? They have about 15K miles on them.

Comp Cams "Hi-Tech" stainless rockers are available in 1.7:1. ~$30 more then the typical "Pro-Magnum" rockers.

Crane, and if I remember right, they're the gold ones that cost $300 new. Base your price off of mileage on them and condition.

Don't forget that when moving to 1.7's with the hotcam kit, you NEED to upgrade the springs as the 1.7's will put the gross lift at .558, over the .550 lift the springs are good for.

Not true. You can clearance the inside of the valve covers. I can immediately think of two people running the 1.7 rockers on stock valve covers.

I fully agree with Rich, if you can afford it, run a good stainless rocker arm - I wouldn't ever run aluminum rockers if I didn't have to.

The 1.7 7/16" high-tech stainless rockers are about $100 more than pro-mag's - we typically sell them for $360.

Jared, when your heads show up & we order other valvetrain parts, I can get those for you @ a discount if you'd like .

What springs would you recommend? What if a person was running a stock LT1 cam... would the LT4 springs included in the hotcam kit be sufficient?
